Third Man is grateful for inspiration from John Stezaker following a recent comment from Diogenes to the post Portraits of Impermananece: “Anderson should be up on the shelf alongside Maurice Tate – those pictures of him, the sweaty, honest endeavour – are surely equivalent to Anderson and his achievements in the last 18 months.”

Brilliant! Worth a sackful of words – but not your words, obviously, TM. Anderson does appear to be up there on the bowlers shelf with Tate, but as a batsman the Sussex lad sits on top of a bookcase on the nineteenth floor of a block of flats while Jimmy is perched on something from IKEA down in the basement
Now that image will take another visit to the Library in the Great House, but it could be done …
